The President of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) was established in 1989. The chamber has actually 895 members, which are representing a broad cross-section of business enterprises in Lao PDR.

LNCCI adhered to the ASEAN CCI in July 2002, this will pave the way to better relation and cooperation with its foreign partners in the region.

LNCCI is directed by a Board of 15 elected members who are representing the different business and industries in Lao PDR. The Board Executive Committee with the assistance of permanent executive staffs administrate and operate the day to day activities of the chamber.

The principal responsibility of the LNCCI Board is to maintain the links between the local industries and the various Government ministries and agencies in views of the expansion of trade and investment in the Country. The Chamber is mandated to regulate and eliminate some of the impediments than hinder the competitiveness of Lao enterprises in international markets. Through its activities, LNCCI presents a collective interest to its members in the improvement and expansion of their business condition within the evolving market economy in Lao PDR and in the region.

LNCCI established a number of Standing Committees and commissions for advising the board and members on the Lao Government policies and regulations related to the principal economic and financial sectors such as; agriculture and forestry, industry and handicraft, transport, telecommunication and construction, commerce and trade, tourism, education and training, banking and finance, labour and well fare, and foreign affairs.

One of the important responsibilities of LNCCI, which is entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, is the issuance of Certificate of Origin (CO) for products manufactured in Lao PDR. Considering the growth and expansion of the Lao export industry, the chamber has recently improved its service in expediting the preparation and issuance of the CO certificate.

LNCCI maintains very close ties with the Ministry of Commerce in Vientiane and the commercial secretaries of Lao embassies overseas
